I’ve just seen a debate on Twitter about game streamers using cameras. The poster pointed out that there was major pressure on gamers who stream to use a “facecam”.
Many people were in agreement with her that it wasn’t necessary and that the content was most important but a few disagreed. Some people were of the opinion that if a streamer wasn’t confident enough or couldn’t be bothered trying to look good enough for a cam then they shouldn’t stream at all.
In my opinion this is absurd and shouldn’t even be a debate. So, here’s an idea: If you want to use a facecam then do and if you don’t then don’t. If you want to watch a steam then do it, if you don’t then don’t.
Sounds simple, right? It really is. Do what you want and if others don’t like it then tough. Don’t feed into the sense of entitlement people seem to feel these days.
